We’ve compiled some of our most-often-asked questions to help you plan your visit.

General Lodge Questions

Is the indoor water park included with overnight stays?

Water park access is included with specified overnight stays. Overnight guests can begin using the indoor water park prior to check-in on the day of their arrival (adjusted hours of operations may apply) and can continue using the water park until close on the day of their departure. *Note the hours of use change for dates where the water park is scheduled to open later or close earlier than these times listed. Wristbands are issued for water park access and must be worn throughout the entire stay.  If wristbands are removed, replacement fees may apply.

When is check-in and check-out at the Resort?

Check-in begins after 4 p.m. daily. If your room isn't ready upon arrival, you can start enjoying the water park prior to check-in when operating hours are applicable. We recommend a smaller bag be packed with bathing suits and swim gear. Please leave all other remaining luggage locked in your vehicle until your room is ready. Upon arrival, visit the Front Desk to pick up your water park wristbands. Lockers, showers, and changing areas are available for use in the water park. Guests must check out of their room before 11 am on the day of their departure. Guests can enjoy the waterpark until close after checking out of their rooms.
Late check-out packages are available on a limited basis and may be reserved for an additional fee. Must be arranged through our Reservations department at 518-824-6000 and will extend check-out until 2 pm.

How old do you have to be to check in or reserve a suite?

Guests must be at least 21 years of age (with valid ID) to reserve and check in to a suite. The guest under whose name the suite is booked must be present at the time of check-in.

Are there prohibited items not allowed at the lodge?

List of prohibited items not allowed on Six Flags property: Firearms, ammunition, knives, and weapons of any kind Mace/pepper spray, and other self-defense or restraining devices. Marijuana (including marijuana enriched products) or any illegal substance. Fireworks or other similarly explosive and/or flammable objects. Spiked clothing/jewelry. Lawn/folding chairs. Glass bottles (excluding small containers such as baby food jars). Spray paint/markers. Recreational devices such as drones, remote-controlled devices, laser pointers, scooters, skateboards, and shoes with built-in wheels. Selfie sticks, monopods, and similar handheld extension poles for cameras or mobile devices.

Is stay-over service offered in my stay?

Six Flags Great Escape Lodge offers limited stayover service with replacement of towels and toiletries as needed. Contact the front desk if additional items are needed during your stay.

What is the resort's pet policy?

We know you love your pets and we love animals, too—but they are not allowed in the Lodge (with the exception of service animals recognized by the ADA). Please provide advance notice if you are bringing a service animal with you during your stay.

Can I have packages delivered to the lodge while a guest?

The Great Escape Lodge does not accept guest packages. Packages that arrive will be returned to sender.

What if I've lost and item during my visit?

Lost items may be turned in to our guest services team. Six Flags partners with Chargerback to help reunite guests with their misplaced items. Please fill out our Lost & Found form found at the bottom of our website.

Is a credit card required at check-in if I have pre-paid for my stay?

A credit card is needed at check-in for incidental charges. At check-in, your credit card will be authorized to cover the cost of additional nights and $50.00 per night for incidentals. Debit cards are strongly discouraged for room charges and incidental holds.

What if the credit holder is not checking in?

If the credit card holder is not checking in to Six Flags Great Escape Lodge, a credit card authorization form is required.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept credit cards, checks, cashier’s checks, and money orders. Cash payments are not accepted, but cash may be transferred to card via Kiosks located in on property.

Are debit cards accepted?

Six Flags Great Escape Lodge does accept Debit Cards. An authorization is held against your card which will be released at check out, but it may take your bank up to 14 business days to release the hold.

Do lodge guest get a discount to Six Flags Great Escape Theme Park?

Access to the theme park is included with select overnight packages during the theme park’s operating season. Access to theme park with these packages is valid during your visit to the lodge each day following your night with us.

What is covered in the resort fee?

The resort fee includes morning coffee service with accompaniments, high-speed wireless internet, parking, in-room coffee, life jacket use in the water park, towel service in the water park, daily activities, and character appearances. Starting January 6, 2025, we will end morning coffee service and accompaniments and remove the resort fee. Guests will still enjoy the other listed amenities to compliment their stay.

Is kosher food available at the lodge?

We do not offer kosher food at the lodge; however, we are located in close proximity to a number of grocery stores that carry a selection of kosher food offerings. Aldi, Price Chopper and Hannaford supermarkets are all within a 10-minute drive.

What is the cooking policy at the lodge?

Hotplates, grills, toasters or any other cooking device with a heating element are not allowed in our hotel. Each guest suite offers a mini-refrigerator and microwave oven.

Are there quiet hours at the lodge?

Quiet hours are from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Please be considerate of other guests at all times.

Do Six Flags Pass Holders receive a discount at the lodge?

As a current Pass Holder, special offers are periodically given on regular room rates throughout the year. To stay up to day on what offers are available – visit the Special Offers page.

What is the cancellation policy?

If you wish to cancel your reservation, please notify us at least 7 days prior to your arrival date. Cancellations prior to 7 days are subject to a $25 cancellations fee. Cancellations received within 7 days, and all no-show reservations are subject to forfeit of a one-night deposit. If you have booked a special non-cancellable rate, any cancellation will result in a forfeit of the full deposit.

Are cribs available?

A set number of cribs are available for guests to use during their stay with us. Cribs are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Requests can be made at the Front Desk upon time of arrival.

Are there smoking rooms available?

All areas inside of Six Flags Great Escape Lodge are nonsmoking including suites. If smoking does occur, there is a $250 smoking fine that will be applied to your suite. External smoking areas are available for guests.

What is the difference between connecting and adjoining suites?

Connecting suites are suites that have a connecting door on the shared wall. Adjoining suites do not share a connecting door and are close to each other - next door, across the hall or as close as possible on the same floor.

What are "Extra Person Charges"?

Each room rate is based on a certain occupancy. There is an additional fee per extra person/ per night along with any additional charges for packages. For example, a Traditional Suite is based on an occupancy of four people, but will sleep a maximum of six people. The 5th and 6th person would incur an additional fee per person/per night.

Are towels provided for use in White Water Bay?

The Lodge provides complimentary towels for use by our overnight guests in the indoor water park. Towels must be returned to the water park attendant after use. Day guests must bring their own towels. Towels can also be purchased at our Northwoods Traders or Gitchee Goomee gift shops.

Do I have to accompany my child in White Water Bay?

Yes. All children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Each person who enters the water park must have admission either through their room reservation or a single day ticket.

Do children need to have swimsuits on even if they are in diapers?

All guests at White Water Bay are required to wear a swimsuit. If the guest is diaper-dependent, a swim diaper AND a plastic reusable swim diaper/cover-up are also required underneath the swimsuit.

Where can I get a bathing suit if I forgot mine?

Swimsuits are sold at both of our gift shops. Gitchee Goomee also has everything needed for a day in the water, including flip flops, water shoes, suntan lotion, and more. Denim shorts or pants are not allowed to be worn on any attraction or pool in White Water Bay.

Are water shoes required in the water park?

Water shoes are not required in White Water Bay, but shoes are required in other areas of the resort.

What is the cast policy at White Water Bay?

Waterproof casts are only allowed in Tak-It-Eesi Creek, Lott-A-Watta Bay, Soakum Springs, Tip-A-Kanu Beach (pool area only), and Tall Timbers Treehouse (structure area only).

Are children required to wear life vests at White Water Bay?

It is recommended that children 48″ and under, as well as weak swimmers, wear a life vest while in the water park. Parents should keep their children within arms-length at all times while at White Water Bay. Guests may bring in their own life vests for use in the park, provided they are US Coast Guard approved.

Are inflatable tubes and floaties allowed?

All inflatables including floaties/swimmies/water wings, kickboards, and inflatable tubes are not allowed in the water park.

Can I bring outside food and beverage to White Water Bay

No outside food, drinks, or coolers are allowed in the park. However, guests that have special dietary needs including food allergies, religious requirements, restrictions, and baby food/formula are exceptions that can be made. If guests want to eat outside food or beverages, they may do so in their suite. Birch Bark Grille, located in White Water Bay, sells a variety of food and beverages that may be enjoyed in the water park. No food or beverages are allowed on any of the attractions or in any pools.

Are bags provided for wet bathing suits?

In support of the NYS plastic bag ban, plastic bags will not be available throughout the lodge. Prior preparations should be made to transport wet swim attire.

Do you have to be a guest of the lodge to us the indoor water park?

Single-day use tickets are available for purchase to guests not staying overnight. Please visit the Indoor Water Park tab see hours of operation and purchase your tickets.

Do you have electric vehicle (EV) charging stations?
